Altman, chief executive of OpenAI, later tweeted that Sutskever and OpenAI would go their separate ways, which he was very sad about. The Washington Post reported that Sutskever is a staunch believer in general artificial intelligence, which usually refers to artificial intelligence systems that are smarter than humans. Pachoki joined OpenAI's Dota team as research leader in 2017, and the team later developed an artificial intelligence system that can beat human players in Valve's Dota 2 strategy game.

Subsequently, Pachocki became the research director of the reasoning and deep learning science department of OpenAI and became the research director of OpenAI since August last year.
