Three new industries in Yunnan-new energy battery industry, silicon photovoltaics and green aluminum industry-all showed strong growth. The growth rate of the new energy battery industry is as high as 23.7%, and the growth rates of the silicon photovoltaic and green aluminum industries are 29.5% and 26.4% respectively. These three industries have contributed 32.9% to the growth rate of industries above designated size, becoming an important support for the development of industrial economy in Yunnan Province. Faced with the challenge of hydropower reduction caused by drought in winter, spring and early summer, Yunnan Province actively allocates resources, optimizes operation scheduling, and promotes the production and grid connection of new energy sources, ensuring the orderly progress of energy and power supply. In the first four months of this year, industrial power generation above designated size in Yunnan Province reached 107.922 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%, an acceleration of 4.8 percentage points from the first quarter. Specifically, wind power generation and solar power generation achieved significant growth of 62.2% and 149.4% respectively, while new energy power generation increased by 77.6%, accounting for 24.5%, an increase of 10.1 percentage points over the same period last year, effectively making up for the decline in hydropower production.
