NEW DELHI, July 2 (Xinhua) -- At least nine persons, including two children and six women, died and four others were injured in a road mishap in India's western state of Rajasthan, local police said on Tuesdaycrashtestlauncher.

The road accident, involving a car and a truck, happened in the state's Karauli district on Monday evening.

"There was a head-on collision between the two vehicles. The accident appeared to have happened due to high speed and negligent driving," said the local police, adding that all the deceased belonged to the same family.

According to the local media reports, the deceased were going to visit a temple when they met with the accident.■
